JVC Kenwood announced on January 13 that it will release the 4K D-ILA projector "DLA-V50" from the Victor brand in mid-March. The suggested retail price is 800,000 yen.
A native 4K compatible projector equipped with a unique D-ILA device. It is an entry model for the 8K compatible DLA-V90R/V80R/V70R announced in September 2021, and appeals as an introductory home theater machine.
Equipped with the same 0.69-inch D-ILA device as the high-end model, it supports 4K120p input. Equipped with a low-latency mode assuming high frame rate game content, and equipped with a unique afterimage reduction technology "Clear Motion Drive".
The HDR method supports HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. The tone mapping functions "Frame Adapt HDR" and "Theater Optimizer" enhance the reproducibility of HDR images according to usage conditions.
A 265W high-pressure mercury lamp is used as the light source. Brightness is 1,900 lumens. Equipped with a lens with a diameter of 65 mm that uses an all-glass lens with 17 elements in 15 groups. The projection size is 60 to 200 inches. 40,000:1 native contrast and 400,000:1 dynamic contrast.
