The glasses that JINS released last year that show your posture and state of mind just by wearing them are a hot topic. Six years ago, the first one was expensive at about 40,000 yen, but this time it was less than 20,000 yen. Megumi Ushikubo, a marketing writer, listened to the behind-the-scenes development story. In the metropolitan area and so-called large companies (1000 or more employees), the introduction rate exceeded 30% for a period of time (2020-2022 survey by the Japan Productivity Center). During this time, digitalization has progressed throughout society, and many people may say that they now have more desk work than before. "When I spend more time at my desk, I become more and more tired." In June 2021, Nichiban, a healthcare company, conducted a survey of men and women in their 20s to 60s, and found that about 60% (57.7%) of them felt that they had "increased (some kind of) physical discomfort compared to before COVID-19." It was also found that people who work remotely are about 12% more likely to feel unwell than those who do not. In the same survey, the most common complaint was "eye fatigue (59.3%)." Next, "fatigue/drowsiness", "stiff shoulders", and "lower back pain" are likely to have a negative impact on the body, such as sitting down, staring at a computer screen for a long time, or maintaining the same posture. ■ Visualize posture and state of mind In recent years, there has been a movement to solve these problems with "digital". For example, there is a wearable device ["UPRIGHT GO" (UPRIGHT)] that records your posture by attaching it directly to your back, and a load sensor and AI that notifies you of a "worse forecast" of back pain. A special chair (smart chair/Tohoku University graduate school etc.) that will give you. And in the field of glasses (smart glasses), a cutting-edge new product that can "visualize" not only the posture (body) but also the state of the "heart" appeared in October 2021. Its name is "JINS MEME" (JINS). The concept is "Self-care glasses for heart and body", and it is positioned as the second series after the first series (sold out in 2019) released in the fall of 2015. The glasses and app have been significantly updated, and the sales volume exceeded that of the first series in just three months after its release (until January 13, 2022). In fact, the background to the creation of the original Jins Meme was related to a tragic "accident" that occurred in 2012.
