For a stress-free viewing experience.
Netflix has announced that it is now possible to turn off the ability to autoplay trailers.
This feature was only introduced after years of user complaints. Currently, the Netflix home screen automatically plays trailers for movies and TV shows. For example, if you're messing around with your iPad to keep the person sleeping next to you in the middle of the night, it's a nuisance. And if the auto-played trailer is unpleasant, you may be shocked ... Recently, many Netflix users have unintentionally witnessed kitten abuse scenes.
Netflix, like many other companies, uses trailers and autoplay features for the next episode to keep users watching. The synopsis of the work is more interesting to watch in the trailer video than to read the print. Another reason is that the shorter the interval between episodes, the more likely you are to see the latest season of the drama.
But as you know, users don't like autoplay videos, especially with audio. "Some people find this feature useful, others don't," Netflix said in a tweet from this announcement.
To turn off autoplay, you need to log in to Netflix with a web browser, which you can't do from the app.
After logging in to the web version, select the profile you want to configure. From Playback Settings> Autoplay Management, trailer on / off "automatically play preview while viewing on all devices", episode on / off "automatically play the next episode of the series on all devices" You can switch with the check box.
According to Netflix, it may take some time for the changes to take effect, so we suggest switching profiles to encourage them to take effect, or logging out and then logging back in.
Once you've set it up, let's get rid of the annoying autoplay and its audio. You will be able to choose which work to watch without being disturbed by the trailer that is played suddenly.
