What is the album view of the subscribing generation that emphasizes time performance?
"When I was a teenager, I didn't listen to music at all. So I don't really know what it feels like to buy a CD album... Who has 11 songs? I wonder if you listen through what you have."
There are no words to respond to the opinion unique to a generation that has become the default to listen while zapping with a subscription, but it seems that Megashin's style album definition was born precisely because we are always in the midst of such uncategorized music.
“I have noticed that I can listen to anything I want with my subscription.Recently, I think rock bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Oasis are cool. Garage rock is garage rock. They are very consistent in what they do, but I'm easily bored, so I probably can't pursue a single genre like them.But then, what is your consistency? I'm influenced by many different genres and categories, but everything I create is alternative. I thought that if I could have consistency, I could make an album.”
Trap, hip-hop, indie pop, '80s disco sound, Shibuya-style sampling music...Megashin crosses over what he finds "interesting" and "cool" and turns them into songs one after another. There is a dizzying uplifting feeling when you listen to the way you drop it, and it is both nostalgic and new.
"I want to stay true to myself forever. I love rap, and I'm pretty good at it, so I want to do it, but doing rough stuff isn't my style. So, I feel like I'm singing a loose daily life like Mr. Suchadarapar." I want to bring my favorite culture and present it as much as I can.”
And, as I said at the beginning, I'm particular about the time I listen to it all the way through.
“When I listen to an album with a subscription, I first scroll down to see how long the album is. In the end, it was 39 minutes. Doesn't it feel like a bargain? The price, the quality, the satisfaction, and the time performance are also good.

Mega Shinnosuke Born November 20, 2000 in Tokyo. I grew up in Fukuoka. Artist name is real name. In 2018, he released the 1st mini EP “momo” and the following year the EP “HONNE”, attracting attention. The first tour will be held in November.
