US CEVA announced on January 26, 2022 a new IP (Intellectual Property) core product "Fortrix SecureD2D IP" for advanced logic ICs that contain multiple dies in one package. The new product is an IP core for secure communication between dies and has been selected and implemented as part of the US Department of Defense's SHIP (State-of-the-Art Heterogeneous Integrated Packaging) program. In addition, Lockheed Martin of the United States and one major semiconductor maker are currently deciding to adopt this IP core.
In advanced logic ICs represented by MPUs (Micro Processing Units) manufactured by cutting-edge semiconductor processes, multiple dies (chiplets and chipsets) are used instead of integrating all circuits on one die, mainly due to manufacturing costs. It has come to be divided into tiles) and put into one package. According to Gartner, the market for multi-die semiconductor products, which was 3.3 billion US dollars (about 380 billion yen, 1 US dollar = 115 yen) in 20 years, will increase about 15 times in 2012 to 50.5 billion US dollars (about 6 trillion yen). It is said that it will be expanded to 330 billion yen).
This new product, Fortrix SecureD2D IP, is an IP core for ensuring the security of multi-die ICs. By integrating this IP core on the die, secure communication between dies is realized. CEVA anticipates demand for this new product in the aerospace defense market, industry and automobile markets, and IoT (Internet of Things) applications where security and certainty are important.

Fortrix SecureD2D IP is a product of Intrinsix, a wholly owned subsidiary of CEVA, and has a controller that encrypts / decrypts via the secure fabric. It supports encryption methods such as ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) / SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm) -2 / AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). In addition, the product includes a low-level firmware API and customizable high-level applications. "By introducing a new product, we can easily and securely integrate multiple dies," the company said.

Fortrix SecureD2D IP is currently licensed. RTL (Register Transfer Level) design data of the IP core itself, SDC (Synopsys Design Constraints) format constraints, various firmware, documents, etc. are provided. CEVA also provides services to support the design of dies that integrate new products and the secure integration of dies.
