Beisia will work with e-mobility power to install quick chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) in its stores. Operation will start at Beisia Moka store (Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture) from December 15th.
The 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Strategy announced by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry states that by 2035, comprehensive measures will be taken to achieve 100% electrified passenger car sales. The number of EVs/PHVs currently in use is about 280,000 units, but it is believed that EVs/PHVs will become more popular in the future as the government strengthens environmental measures, including the Green Growth Strategy. On the other hand, the current situation is that the places where EV/PHV can be charged are still limited, and there are areas where there are no chargers or where people are waiting for charging.
This time, one CHAdeMO standard quick charger (capable of charging two devices at the same time) has been installed at the Beisia Moka store. Customers can use the shopping time to charge EVs more conveniently, and it will also lead to elimination of blank areas for EV chargers and charging waiting areas.
In the future, Beisia will expand the installation of EV quick chargers at other stores.
