"Feevr", a system that works with smart glasses to alert you when you find someone who has a fever in the city, was released on March 26th. These groundbreaking glasses are a collaboration product of X.Labs and Vuzix in the United States. X.Labs is a company that originally developed a system for detecting weapons called "SWORD". This time, in partnership with Vuzix, which provides smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) technology, we have placed an order to ship 100 "Vuzix blade smart glasses" that work with Feevr.
Feevr is a mobile platform that integrates high-precision thermal imaging cameras and mobile apps with AI (artificial intelligence) into Android devices. When this non-contact solution finds a person whose temperature is higher than the set value, it secretly sends an alert so that others do not know. Fever is one of the most obvious indicators for detecting infectious diseases such as the new coronavirus, so Feevr can be used to efficiently identify infected individuals. It can be said that it is the same as SWORD as a system that detects a person who carries a powerful weapon called a virus inside the body. In the case of a virus, it is important for the person who holds it to detect it early because it is often not noticed by himself / herself.
Vuzix Smart Blade Glass uses a technology called "Head Up Display (HUD)" that projects information directly into the human field of view, allowing users to see alerts appearing on their glasses in real time. Barry Oberholzer, founder and CEO of X.Lab, describes the UD technology as follows: "Vuzix blades provide something like a transparent screen. Customers can receive real-time alerts from the Feevr solution while maintaining visibility." If HUD technology becomes widespread, it will not be necessary to look at the smartphone screen to check the information.
